Municipal Government

The City of Licking operates under a Mayor–Board of Aldermen form of government. The Mayor and four-member Board of Aldermen are elected to serve the community, each holding two-year terms. To provide continuity in leadership, two Aldermen seats are up for election each year. The Mayor and Board are responsible for establishing policies, adopting ordinances, approving the budget, and guiding the overall direction of the City.

The City also appoints key administrative and public safety leadership to carry out the day-to-day operations and implement the policies established by the Mayor and Board.
